Delegation of the Forum of Cooperation of Regulatory Authorities (RCF) got acquainted with the construction of Belarusian NPP, BelTA learned from the Gosatomnadzor.
RCF delegation visited the construction site and the information center of Belarusian NPP, got acquainted with the process of constructing the station and supervising its safety.
During the visit to Belarus, RCF management also discussed with the Gosatomnadzor the development of a regulatory infrastructure for nuclear and radiation safety in the context of the construction of BelNPP and preparations for commissioning the station. Issues of licensing, supervision, development of the regulatory and legal framework, the system of technical support of the Belarusian regulatory body, fulfillment of international obligations, as well as the course and results of RCF activities for Belarus were discussed.
The Regulatory Cooperation Forum was established in 2010 in response to a request by IAEA member states to establish a platform for coordinating assistance in building a regulatory nuclear safety infrastructure by the states with advanced nuclear power to states that are planning or are starting to implement their nuclear programs. RCF unites 26 states. Belarus joined the organization in 2012 and is one of the recipient states.
