Governor opens Intellectual Belarus expo in Grodno

A lot of popular developments in the world have Belarusian roots, Grodno Oblast Governor Vladimir Karanik said as he attended the Intellectual Belarus expo in Grodno, BelTA has learned.

Vladimir Karanik welcomed the opening of the expo in the hospitable Grodno land. "This is a significant event both for our region and for the country as a whole. It is symbolic that it is in the Year of Peace and Creation that the Intellectual Belarus expo has been held in Minsk, on a large scale and featuring the wonderful content. It aroused a genuine interest among our citizens. Now following the instruction of the head of state, the expo is traveling around the regions," Vladimir Karanik said.

Belarusian science really has something to be proud of. "Our country uses nuclear technologies both in energy and medicine, in other areas. A lot of developments in the world have Belarusian roots, which we sometimes do not even know about," the governor said. “The developments of our scientists will make life more comfortable, the economy more efficient, and medicine even more accessible and better.”

Vladimir Karanik stressed that Grodno, which has three universities, also has a great scientific potential. "I hope that young people, many of whom I am very happy to see at the opening, will see the achievements of our science and will decide to become scientists, engineers or technical workers in the future. I am very glad that some of the Grodno enterprises are presenting their developments at the expo. I hope that every year their number will increase. Because we, like the whole country, pay great attention to science," Vladimir Karanik concluded.

Intellectual Belarus will be running in Grodno until 19 March. The exhibition has been organized following the instruction of the Belarusian president and has already been to Minsk, Gomel, Mogilev and Vitebsk. Visitors have the opportunity to get acquainted with the developments of Belarusian scientists and students, their scientific and technological achievements. Belarus Intellectual presents both the latest samples and those that are already actively used in production.
