Sport for Everyone workout ground opens in Oshmyany
A multifunctional sports ground under the Sport for Everyone project of the Presidential Sports Club has been launched in Oshmyany, BelTA has learned.
The sports ground has a basketball court, a zone for people with disabilities and 17 pieces of workout equipment. The sports ground has been designed to do weightlifting and gymnastics exercises, kettlebell lifting. It is located near Gymnasium No.1 in Oshmyany.
“The sports ground is improved and designed for teenagers who want to do sports. I used to go in for combined events, that is why it will be interesting for me. I would like to thank Dmitry Lukashenko for opening this sports ground for us. We have a lot of kids who go in for sports and a lot of kids who are interested in sports like weightlifting, athletics, handball and volleyball,” said gymnasium student Valeriya Kontsevaya.
The multifunctional sports ground will be open not only to gymnasium students, but also to all residents of Oshmyany, including those with disabilities. The sports round has equipment specially designed for this purpose, and Honored Master of Sports, three-time Paralympic skiing champion Lyudmila Volchek helped to do it right. “In my opinion, this is a unique project. People with disabilities can feel great here. I think the project will be a success in our country. After all, it is a necessity in our lives. The sports ground offers various equipment, including horizontal bars, and the one to pump your abs and lift weights. It is just amazing. It is a dream,” Lyudmila Volchek said.
The construction of the sports ground in Oshmyany began on 2 November 2022. The multifunctional sports ground was built as part of the national social project of the Presidential Sports Club “Sport for Everyone” with the support of the Oshmyany District Executive Committee. The main objective of the Sport for Everyone project is to provide an opportunity to make sports activities available to everyone living in the neighborhood, regardless of social status and financial capabilities.
