Ostrovets region is the fourth largest region of the Grodno oblast situated at the very north of it.

If you happen to visit this incredible land, you will be forever drawn to it. You will be amazed by the serene beauty of crystal clear rivers and lakes amidst majestic pines and spruce, by sweet-smelling meadows and fields. The river Vilia and its inflows carry their waters along the steep banks of Oshmyani hills and Naroch-Vilia lowlands. At the north of the region one can find the Kaiminsk group of lakes that are called Sorochansk necklace, at the Kotlovka village a glacier once created the so-called Ostrovets Switzerland. Belarus presents its sightseeing and business tourism opportunities in London

Belarus has presented its sightseeing and MICE tourism at World Travel Market (WTM) in London on 7-9 November, Yelena Likhimovich, the head of the marketing department at the National Tourism Agency, told BelTA.

Belarus and Austria intend to advance their interparliamentary dialogue. The matter was discussed during the latest meeting of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Austria Valery Voronetsky and First Deputy Chairman of the National Council of Austria Karlheinz Kopf, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA. 2019 European Games program to depend on Belarus sports infrastructure

The number of sports at the 2019 European Games will depend on the capacity of Belarus infrastructure, First Vice President of Belarus National Olympic Committee Maksim Ryzhenkov said in an interview with the ONT TV channel, BelTA has learned.

We will participate in drawing up the list of sports to be included in the program of the Games. However, the list will vastly depend on the infrastructure that Belarus has today. >>>

Blueprints to build bypass road around Grodno in January

The blueprints to build a bypass road around Grodno and reconstruct a bridge will be ready in early 2017. Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov was made familiar with prospects of the projects implementation during his working trip to Grodno Oblast on 21 October, BelTA has learned.

Plans have been made to build part of the bypass road using a Chinese credit line. The construction project is already in development. >>>

Plans have been made to implement a pilot project of the United Nations Organization to develop social entrepreneurship in several areas in Grodno Oblast. The information was released during the latest meeting of UN Resident Coordinator in Belarus Sanaka Samarasinha and Grodno Oblast Governor Vladimir Kravtsov, BelTA has learned.

Sanaka Samarasinha explained: It is a new project that will provide population employment by creating small enterprises that will provide a social function, for instance, in the sphere of education, healthcare, or support for the elderly. >>>
